Howard practiced in Dade and Broward Counties for several years before returning to Pinellas County and joining his father, Howard P. Rives, Jr. in law practice. His memberships, past and present, include The Florida Bar (since 1976), Real Property and Probate Section of The Florida Bar (since 1976), Attorneys Title Insurance Fund (1977 - 2011),U.S. Court of Appeals Eleventh Circuit(since 1982), The Clearwater Bar, Rotary Club of Clearwater Beach (Past President in 1989 and 2008), Morton Plant Hospital Financial Advisory Board. Howard Rives is a native of Pinellas County, Florida. He was born in Clearwater, Florida and received a B.A. Degree from the University of the South (“Sewanee”) where he was on the football team. He was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity at Sewanee. He graduated from the University of Florida and received his Juris Doctor degree in 1976.
